Below is an iReport from Network TwentyOne Hungary’s Country Manager, Barbara Nagy who was instrumental in helping to orchestrate the coordination of Network TwentyOne’s business partners and the Red Cross to make a real difference at a time of real need. Take it away Barbie…

“Do you remember the iReport about the tragedy that happened in Hungary in the afternoon of October the 4th ,2010? Toxic sludge from a factory flooded across 4 villages destroying more than 300 families’ homes.

This tragedy united Network TwenytOne, Network of Caring and the International Red Cross in a Business Seminar in Budapest, the capital of Hungary. A huge amount of clothing and food donations were collected at the entrance and over $8,000 USD in cash donations were given by Network TwentyOne affiliated Amway business owners.

On behalf of all those who were in need I would like to say a special thank you to everyone involved! I am more than happy to inform all of you that because of the awareness that came from the unity of all who felt the need to help –last week the Hungarian Government has given out 109 brand new houses to the victims of this disaster families.

I and my entire staff feel blessed to be a part of Network TwentyOne and that we were given the opportunity to work hand with our business partners to be a part of helping others!”

In the five years the tournament has run, several thousand children from throughout Eastern Europe have participated. In 2011 over 60 teams participated, 1200 young football players, from the ages of  9 to 14 year old.

This is the biggest Children football event in the Ukraine. It is at this event that new talents are being discovered, some of whom are further growing into future sport stars. As Igor says, “Investing in our youth is an honor. We have so much to be thankful for and simply want to share our blessings with the next generations, and what better way than to help them to engage in team sports to strengthen their bodies, confidence and souls.”

Just one more example of how great things happen anywhere in the world when you mix Amway Opportunity and Network TwentyOne Leadership.

“Hello All,  When Rich saw Terry at the exclusive Black Tie opening of The Amway Center he said….”Hi Terry, I am happy to see you. You look great!”   What a memory.  Rich is a legend.

An incredible evening… Jim & Nancy, The Boston Pops Orchestra, James Taylor, fabulous dinner and only 800 guest in an arena that seats 18,000. $300,000 was raised for a charity that sees to the needs of the homeless.  Just wanted to share with you all an evening we’ll never forget.

Jim, Nancy, Dave and Jules (plus Faith an Ella) were recently at Pebble Beach to support another worthy charitable organization, EQUIP, with John Maxwell. Jim is a founding board member of the organization that has now trained over 4 million leaders in 144 countries, and in more than 60 languages. “The golf is world class, but the opportunity to make a difference in the effectiveness and productivity of so many others is the real reward”, says Jim. Over $600,000 was raised over the few days and new plans were made for the future… Including next year’s event at Pebble. That will be the Dornans’ 10th year in attendance.

Recently in Amway’s Achieve magazine, Network TwentyOne was spotlighted for their work done to assist in aid relief to those who suffered from Haiti’s devastating earthquake earlier this year. Inspired by the leadership of Network TwentyOne’s founders Jim and Nancy Dornan… orchestrated by Network Of Caring’s Chief Significance Officer R.D. Saunders… and funded by many Network TwentyOne affiliated Amway business owners around the world, 550 wheelchairs were delivered and distributed to Haitians in need.

With over $30 million dollars in support raised including over 55,000 children sponsored around the world in the last 13 years, Network TwentyOne and it’s affiliated business owners have and will continue to do amazing things for people in need.

“In the afternoon of October the 4th, 2010, more than 300 families’ lives were shattered in just a few minutes as toxic sludge from a local factory flooded across 4 villages, killing 9 people, injuring many more and destroying the property and homes of over 300 families. To this day, many are still hospitalized with severe chemical burns from this toxic flood.

This tragedy brought together Network TwentyOne, Network of Caring and the International Red Cross last weekend at a Network TwentyOne Business Building Seminar in Budapest, Hungary where the wonderful feeling of the united effort to help others became reality. It was such a blessing to experience the goodwill of Network TwentyOne affiliated Amway business owners as well as Network TwentyOne staff giving in the spirit so often espoused and demonstratd by Network TwentyOne founders, Jim and Nancy Dornan.

With a special thanks to Hans & Eva Nusshold, Crown Ambassadors from Austria for the generous support in kicking off the fund raising effort… over $8,000 in cash donations was collected. Additionally, people were amazed at the huge amount of food and clothing donations that was collected at the entrance of the seminar. Many business owners had tears in their eyes when they realized what unity and goodwill together can achieve. The van that Red Cross has sent to pick up the donations had to return 4 additional times to take away all of the donations for the flood victims. When asked, the representative from the Red Cross said ” I have never experienced such a unity and action from one organization before!”

“This year’s European Go Diamond proved to be the biggest ever, with over 2300 participants from 23 countries. Jim & Nancy Dornan, Founders Crown Ambassadors with 50 FAA points were joined by some of the biggest names in the business like Founder Crown Ambassadors Mitch and Deirdre Sala from Australia, as well as leading figures in Europe, Crown Ambassadors Hans & Eva Nusshold to provide vision and inspiration .

The event was a star-studded affair with a total of 3 Founder Crown Ambassadors, 2 Crown Ambassadors, 1 Crown, 5 Double Diamonds, 8 Executive Diamonds and more than 70 other Diamonds and Founder Diamonds attending. One of the highlights of the event was the recognition of new Diamonds Oksana &Yuriy Tataru, new Executive Diamonds Jaroslav & Valentina Pavlyuk and Mikhail &Valentina Bludov and 2 new Double Diamonds – Izabela & Marek Bujwicki from Poland and Alois & Sissy Petra Szuchar from Austria.

The Go Diamond audience also had an opportunity to hear inspirational speeches from Network TwentyOne’s second generation – guest speakers David & Jules Dornan from the USA who have recently qualified as Founder Diamonds. Live translation into 13 languages was provided to ensure that no one missed the words of leadership.

To do justice to the importance of Go Diamond, an ordinary sport hall in the city was transformed into something resembling a ballroom which ensured everyone was able to enjoy themselves in a warm, comfortable atmosphere. Amway provided an extensive exhibition, and Network TwentyOne’s Network of Caring charitable organization was also there and raised over $25,000 to help further the fantastic work they are doing to help disadvantaged people around the world.

And it didn’t end with Go Diamond. The day after the event over 500 European Emeralds attended the Emerald Forum for a rewarding day of motivation and education. The Forum was held in the beautiful Intercontinental Hotel and was wrapped up with a reception with music provided by a live pianist – a fittingly elegant end to the day.”

Recently several Network TwentyOne leaders in Ukraine partnered with Network of Caring to distribute wheelchairs in their nation. To have mobility as a disabled person in many countries means depending on a loved one to carry you or even crawling on the ground. Many of the handicapped choose rather to just stay home with no life and little hope. Our leaders in Ukraine saw this need in their country and responded with great generosity. They rallied their IBOs, raised tens of thousands of dollars, assembled the chairs, and distributed them to 550 disabled people around Kiev. It was such a positive, rewarding experience that the Ukrainian leadership wants to distribute over a 1000 more wheelchairs! Congratulations to these leaders for partnering with Network of Caring in such a large way and for catching the Dornan’s vision that there is no success without significance.
